Office Policies

We require all patients review these policies before every visit. It allows you to have a smooth and seamless visit and lays out what to expect.

Arrival

Please check-in with the front desk 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to prepare for your appointment. Have your insurance and ID cards ready.

Late Arrivals

Our scheduling is designed to permit the correct amount of time for the scheduled visit or treatment. A late arrival will deprive you of precious appointment time. In fairness to others, your visit must end on time in order to minimize the impact on others. If you are unable to be on time, we will do our best to complete as much of your visit or treatment as possible. However depending on the reason for the visit, it may be necessary to reschedule you. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your scheduled appointment, you will be considered a “no-show” and charged a $75.00 fee.

Cancellations & No-Shows

There is increased demand for dermatology appointment spots. When you book your appointment, you are holding space on the calendar that is no longer available to other patients. Should you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please notify us 24 hours in advance to avoid a $75.00 charge. All services that are rescheduled or cancelled on the day of the appointment will be charged. A $75.00 fee will also be assessed for No-Show appointments.

Photography Or Video Recording

Out of respect for our staff and other patents, all photography or video recording is strictly prohibited unless approved by our administrators or practitioners in writing.

Multiple Condition Visits

Our goal is to have all appointments run smoothly and on-time. We schedule to permit the correct time for the reason your visit was scheduled for. If you have multiple conditions you wish to discuss, we are happy to accommodate additional discussions as time permits. However, in order to minimize the impact on others, your visit must end on time and you may need to schedule another appointment to have all your concerns adequately discussed and treated. While we appreciate that this may not be the most convenient, it allows us to provide you with the in-depth and thorough care you deserve.

Accompanying Guests & Family Members:

While we appreciate the trust it shows in us, bringing along family members for their “quick” question affects our ability to provide proper care to you, to the guest, and to other patients. By bringing them along, it distracts from our ability to focus on your medical care, the patient the visit is about! This isn’t fair to you, or to us. People often assume their question will be a quick answer but for us to properly evaluate and assess the situation, proper attention, additional questions and an examination are needed and that is usually not as quick as it may seem. You may get a quick answer but not the best answer and that isn’t what you are looking for. Lastly, while we created The Skinstitute’s space to be a place people want to spend time in, we really want to minimize everyone’s wait time and adding on a family member’s question affects our ability to run on time affecting every patient afterwards. We believe the environment of compassion we are trying to create should extend from one patient to other patients so please understand that bringing along a friend or family member who doesn’t have an appointment for a question isn’t fair to you, to your guest, to other patients, and to us. Please make them their own appointment and they will get the full attention they deserve!

Payment Policies

Payment is expected at the time of services. Insurance plans may cover a portion of your charges and we participate with several commercial and government insurance plans so please check your plan to see if we are a participating provider. You are responsible for any charges not paid by your insurance plan, including co-pays, deductibles, balances, collection fees and for procedures that are not covered. Unfortunately, many common dermatology procedures are not covered by many insurance plan as they consider them unnecessary despite the procedures providing improved quality of life. This includes procedures that people do not commonly classify as cosmetic such as removals of benign lesions.

The Skinstitute accepts cash, check Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. There is an additional $30.00 fee for returned checks, which will be added to any existing balance.

We have financing packages available for cosmetic treatments greater than $500. If you would like more information, please call the office, email us at hello@TheSkinstitute.net or inquire at our cosmetic check-in desk.

We require a credit card number be kept on file. This allows us to offer contactless payment, speeds the check-out process, allows you to pay bills seamlessly from your patient portal and allows us to enforce our cancellation and no-show policies. Your credit card will not be charged until the time of your appointment, in the event of same day cancellations and no-shows and on the dates in your cosmetic financing package.

Product Returns

Our clinicians not only believe in, but personally use the products we sell. However, if you are not satisfied with one of your products, please bring us the product, and your receipt, within four weeks of the purchase date. We will gladly be happy to give you a credit towards one of our services or a refund credited back to you in the same method of payment used for purchase.
